We'll walk everyone through the basics of Spades, including bidding, tricks, scoring, partner play, bags, and the Ready Set Fun rules we'll use during league and tournament play.

After instruction, we'll move into guided practice games, where we'll help new players through actual hands and answer questions along the way.

No experience necessary. This is a relaxed environment specifically designed to help you learn before competitive play begins.

Do I need to know how to play Spades before coming?
No! This night is designed for complete beginners, casual players who want a refresher, and anyone who wants to learn the Ready Set Fun rules before league play begins.

What will you teach?
We'll cover the basics of Spades, including bidding, tricks, partner play, bags, scoring, and the Ready Set Fun rulesused during league and tournament play.

Do I need to bring cards?
No. Ready Set Fun will provide the cards and equipment needed for instruction and guided games.

Do I need to bring a partner?
No. You can attend Learn to Play Night by yourself. We'll pair and rotate players as needed during guided practice games.

How much does it cost?
Nothing! Learn to Play Spades Night is completely FREE.

Do I need to register in advance?
Advance registration is encouraged so we know how many players to prepare for, but there is no admission charge.

What time should I arrive?
Instruction begins at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, September 2. We recommend arriving a few minutes early so you're ready when instruction begins.

Will we actually get to play?
Absolutely. After instruction, we'll move into guided practice games so you can learn bidding, tricks, scoring, and partner play in a real game setting.

Do I have to join Spades League afterward?
No. There's no obligation to join. If you enjoy playing and want to continue, the Fall 2026 Spades League begins Wednesday, September 16.

Can experienced Spades players attend?
Absolutely! Experienced players are welcome to attend, get familiar with Ready Set Fun's rules, enjoy some practice games, and meet other local Spades players.
